Under Title X guidelines, teenagers do not need their parents' permission to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases and related health care, including contraception.

Teens, while we encourage your parents or guardians to be involved in your decisions to seek family planning, this is not required.

Confidentiality

Everything you share during a visit is private and confidential!

Your health care provider will help answer questions regarding confidentiality!

Exceptions to confidentiality are cases regarding State notification laws; policies and procedures of the Title X project and/or provider with respect to notification and reporting of child abuse, child molestation, sexual abuse, rape, incest, intimate partner violence and human trafficking.

Positive test results for certain sexually transmitted infections must be reported to the state health department.

The Wyoming Health Council and staff at its clinics will encourage minors to talk with their parents or other trusted adults about their thoughts and feelings about sexual activities, birth control and their health care choices.
