Affordable Care Act and You

Affordable Care Act and You

On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed into law the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). The ACA expands health coverage to more Americans, controlling health care costs and improving health care delivery systems. The network of Family Planning providers in Wyoming can answer questions and provide assistance in helping to determine if you are eligible to obtain affordable, comprehensive medical coverage.

Specially trained, federally certified, local Navigators at five family planning agencies and at the Wyoming Health Council are available to help you understand the Affordable Care Health Insurance Marketplace, review coverage options with you, and help you enroll in the plan of your choice. The WHC Navigators are supported by Funding Opportunity Number CA-NAV-15-001 from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

You do not have to be a client of the family planning clinic to receive this assistance.

Navigators help you navigate the Health Insurance Marketplace:

  • Find quality health insurance at affordable rates
  • Compare coverage options
  • Find out if you qualify for free or low-cost coverage
  • Get help enrolling

Family planning agencies with certified Navigators:
  • Cheyenne-Laramie County Health Department
  • Gillette Reproductive Health
  • Laramie Reproductive Health
  • Northwest Wyoming Family Planning

In addition to the Navigators at family planning clinics, there are Navigators available throughout the state to provide assistance.
